Watch me demonstrate how I paint as I take you on a journey of how a picture book is created.
Discover the process of creating a picture book and what is involved from:
*Planning *Writing *Editing *Researching information for both the words and illustration *Storyboarding *Drawing techniques
See the original artworks and how they evolved from the first concepts and roughs.
This makes books and illustration real for children and enthuses them with their own writing and creative pursuits.
WORKSHOPS
I provide illustration and writing workshops for children of all age groups.
Depending on the group's interests, I can cater workshops for any specific needs. It can include writing, storyboarding and illustration in many mediums.
Children work with me to create a picture book, or can simply have fun drawing and painting.
Call and speak to me about what you think would suit the kids and I can work out a program with you.
ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
I work with groups of kids as a visiting artist for extension programs and special projects. This can involve:
*Murals *Sculpture - hebel, plaster, cane - anything we can think of that will work and is fun! *Performance Art *Installations
The Students will get to explore different art mediums they might not normally be able to. And it's enormously rewarding for the kids!
I can be booked for workshops and school visits through Show and tell promotions.

ART RELAXATION
Art Relaxation provides a creative environment in which groups of adults can explore painting, drawing and sculpture in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. This enables groups in the workplace, at conferences, or social clubs to bond and allows people in any type of occupation to have a go at being artistically creative. It can involve a range of people from those who haven't picked up a paintbrush since primary school to those actively engaged in artistic pursuits.
It's also an ideal way for teachers to brainstorm their own art activities for the classroom. Adults often don't get the time to be creative once they leave school and this is an activity that they love and find therapeutic.
