School Visits & Workshops

I've always loved art, and was constantly drawing as a kid. My favourite present was when I received some oil paints and an easel for my 12th birthday.

My love of art was also shared by my love of music, and I completed a Bachelor of Music in 1991.  This led to a time of teaching,  where I discovered that kids can
always make you laugh with some ridiculous comment.
Of course the rest of the time they'll drive you
insane.

The decision to move into art was clinched when my first born used to cry every time I played the violin --
I decided that was a hint. I guess my son was right
because it's been a fabulous decision!

My family has been a great inspiration in my art and I'm always asking them to pose as characters in my books. They feature predominantly in my first book 'Various Faerious', which began as an assignment at Chisholm and have cameos throughout all my other books.

Many of my other books continue the tradition of using models, and many members of the Parkdale community in Victoria, where I live, can be found in them.
But sometimes I'll just make it all up and that's a lot of fun!!
